Canyon and Boulder Creek Lakes-Trinity Alps Wilderness

Posted by on Jun 10, 2013 in Trail Reports | No Comments

Went down south again, this time to the Trinity Alps because it melts out earlier than the northern Cascades.  It was Memorial Day weekend and the ranger told us to expect 200 to 300 people out there but had the upper lake all to ourselves instead.  Hiked up to Ell Lake the first night, a few hundred feet above the upper lake at the base of some granite cliffs to catch the alpenglow in the basin.  The next day we went up to Boulder Creek Lakes to enjoy the day, this was the best spot of the trip!
