Z Packs Zero Review
I have had this pack for about two years now and usually use it in all seasons for different reasons. In winter, I use it for a day hiking pack and found that it makes a huge difference in the amount of miles that I can accomplish with relatively little strain or fatigue. On overnight trips, I bring it along to make side trips up to a pass or peak easier. It has plenty of space for a light fleece, water for the climb and a headlamp and map.
At 3.5 ounces it makes this one of the lightest packs per volume that is currently available these days. I added a side pocket on mine to store my camera and a snack or two within arms’ length for convenience. This modest pocket only adds 12 grams. The only issues I have had with its construction are two tiny 1/4 inch cuts in the back panel that I can assume that I made while bushwacking by climbing around some rock or log. These cuts are easy to fix, just make a small patch with some cuban repair tape and a little crazy glue to ensure that it sticks with some longevity. I recommend this pack for day trips or anytime you need to carry a few extra items.
