Robin Lakes-Alpine Lakes Wilderness,WA

My buddy Colin and I went up to the Robin Lakes basin July 5th weekend.  We were expecting some lingering snow above 5000 ft but were pleasantly surprised to find very little on the way up to the lakes.  Up in the basin there were more patchy drifts and both the lakes were still mostly frozen, but there was plenty of camp spots that were dried out.  On a day hike the next day we went up to Granite Mt. and toured the other frozen lakes in the area like the French and Granite Potholes and found the traveling to be surprising dry and the landscape to be easy-going for off trail exploration.
